The story follows protagonist Ajay (Hrithik Roshan) who returns to take revenge on the enemies who murdered his friend. It was directed by Prabhudeva, produced by Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films and Vishal–Shekhar's UTV Motion Pictures. The music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty, who later became a part of Karan–Amit music label.
It was the eleventh highest-grossing Bollywood film in India and the third highest-grossing 2006 Indian film, both domestic and overseas.
It was released on June 26, 2006 in India and received a 'B+' from Box Office India.
Ajay is a mild-mannered man. The first sign of his greatness comes when he comes to know that his friend is dead and vows to take revenge on the murderers.
Ajay's life, however, is put in danger by a gang of serial killers. With the help of Aishwarya Rai, a heart-broken doctor and a young girl, he manages to take revenge.
The film is based on a short story titled "The Monkey's Raincoat" by E. Annie Proulx, which was first published in 1994 in the Iowa Review.
The story of "Krrish" can be considered as a sort of a ‘Godfather meets the God of Karma’ story, and the eponymous character has been inspired from the Ganesha statue in Mumbai’s Kalbadevi temple.
This is the second and the last Hindi dubbed version of the Krrish-2 movie, the Tamil version is named Charanamam (சரநாமம்) which means a prayer made to Lord Shiva ac619d1d87
